Unlike the 1968 film adaptation of this story, this drama tried to tell the story of Saranwatichandra in contemporary time. Coming out of famous Bollywood name Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production house, this romantic family drama was considered as Sanjay’s take to the old gold classic Saraswatichandra. This TV mega-series is loosely based on classic Gujarati novel Saraswatichandra by Govardhanram Tripathi.
